'McFarland' Film Opens Casting Audition in McFarland

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - People in McFarland and Bakersfield are auditioning to fill small roles in the movie, "McFarland."

The film is about the McFarland High School cross country team in the 1980s and its journey to winning nine state championships.

The auditions are being held in McFarland Saturday at the McFarland Community Center until 6 p.m. They are moving to Bakersfield Sunday and will be at the Doubletree from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It is an open casting call for non-union extras. They are looking for all ethnicities of men and women 18-years and older.
