Colin Farrell and Paula Patton are being considered for important roles
in the movie adaptation of “World of Warcraft,” a video game set in
medieval times, according to reports.
Deadline reported that Patton
is “negotiating for a lead role" with Legendary Pictures and Atlas
Entertainment, and "another lead has been offered to" Farrell.
Sources told Deadline that the chances of the “Total Recall” actor
and “2 Guns” actress striking a deal are 50/50, and so, director Duncan
Jones -- best known for directing science fiction films “Moon” and
“Source Code” -- is considering other actors for major roles as well.
According to reports, the movie has been in the works since 2006,
with Steven Spielberg initially rumored to direct the movie. But, Sam
Raimi, who helmed Disney’s fantasy adventure “Oz: The Great and
Powerful,” was later roped in for the movie. However, his departure from
the movie was announced during Comic-Con 2012.
