Impressive Cast in Marvel Galaxy

Marvel's upcoming movie of Guardians Of The Galaxy has put together a rather impressive cast to date, with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker playing key roles. The casting for the movie is far from over, however, as the studio and director James Gunn are still looking to add a few more quality actors to the cast.

Firstly then, while not confirmed, the latest rumour seems to indicate that John C Reilly is set to join the film as Rhomann Dey, the Agent Coulson of the film. Dey acts as an intermediary between the Earth-based Guardians and those not from this planet. He looks over them and reports their actions to S.H.I.E.L.D. Reilly would be a fine choice.

Casting a 6 Year Old Child Makes 'What Maise Knew' Possible

Dramatizing the human interplay of a bitter divorce through the eyes of a 6-year-old child is a risky creative assignment. All the more so when the source material is by an abstruse, introspective author generally associated with waxen costume dramas. In “What Maisie Knew,” co-directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel have preserved the spirit of Henry James’ century-old story of innocence and broken attachments while radically reworking its outer details. The result is a superb film about childhood, “Kramer vs. Kramer” with a literary pedigree.

“It began with a great screenplay by Carroll Cartwright and Nancy Doyne,” McGehee said during the filmmakers’ visit to the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival. “We responded to the idea of seeing this situation from the vantage point of this little girl. The outer trappings were never central to the story.” Moving the story from wealthy gaslight-era London to today’s upper-class Manhattan was less challenge than finding a cinematic equivalent for the writing’s rich subterranean moods.

Casting Potential for 'The Fantastic Four'

As rumors fly about who might be cast for the upcoming reboot of the superhero team franchise The Fantastic Four, I’ve been thinking about what I think it would take to really make this next attempt at adapting the famous super-team really live up to its fullest potential.

So of course, like everyone reading this, I have my own ideas of what should be done. To be honest, I’ve been hoping that the property rights would return to Marvel so we’d get that studio’s version of the characters within the larger cinematic universe of heroes, and I have a select set of people I’d like to see involved in the project.

Casting and Filmmaking Drawn to Oregon

Financial incentives remain important to the backers of
Film and television production companies find Oregon alluring, but they want it all — financial incentives as well as a great place to film.

That’s why Gov. John Kitzhaber’s proposal to boost annual incentives, from $6 million to $12 million, is so important, industry members say.

Aside from great locations, there are plenty of advantages to filming in Portland, "Portlandia" producer David Cress said Thursday. The state has no sales tax, it’s in the same time zone as Los Angeles, it’s on the West Coast for convenient flights and it’s got a strong infrastructure — top production people wielding sophisticated equipment.
