Documentary Film Seeks Houston Basketball Players

Documentary film maker, Cask Studios will be in Houston on Sunday, looking for basketball players to appear in "Unknown Champions". The film is based on the book The Fall of 1972: A Season for the Perfect Storm by Dr. Randy White.

In the 1972/73 season Sam Houston State University men’s basketball team was awarded the AP National trophy. The team is considered to be the greatest in the history of collegiate sports. Some players from the SHSU team went on to be in the NBA draft and others went to play in Europe.

Cask is scheduled to shoot a re-enactment of the game between SHSU and Stephen F. Austin in 1973, creating a feature film game such as the game in "Hoosiers". Playing Coach Archie Porter will be actor Willie Aames and Donny Boaz will play legendary assistant Coach Bob Williams.
